DIRECTIONS TO STAFFORD COUNTY SHOWGROUND

NESS Committee are pleased to provide a short resume for each of our 2018 Ch. Show judges

Mrs Glenys Sykes (Daraquist) – Dog Judge

I acquired my first English in 1975 but in time realised he was not of show quality!  My second dog I was very fortunate to acquire a male puppy, Suntop Dark Breeze, who later became my first Show Champion. An orange bitch Hurwyn Honey Buzzard joined us later who gained a CC & 3 RCCs but more importantly played a huge role on future progeny. Her daughter Sh.Ch. Daraquist Leading Lady gained both DW Top Dog in breed and DW Top Brood Bitch. Leading Lady in turn produced brother and sister Daraquist Leading Recruit & Daraquist Leading Starlet who both gained their Sh.Ch. titles. An accumulation of CCs, RCCs, JWs have been gained with other dogs off this line and of course the recently crowned Sh.Ch. Daraquist Barry A Reef JW. I was privileged to give Challenge Certificates for the first time at Windsor in 1996 and have completed a total of 7 appointments to date plus twice as Referee. I am delighted at being invited to judge the dogs at NESS and very much look forward to this appointment.

Mr Steve Hollings (Gunalt) – Bitch Judge

Myself and my wife Patsy became involved in showing dogs in 1972, with an orange belton English Setter. We bred English for 20 years, owned a Sh.Ch. and various CC, RCC and JW winners in the breed. In 1976, we bought our first Weimaraner. We have bred/produced over 90 UK Title holders in Weimaraners and have achieved Top Breeder all Breeds UK for more years than we can remember. I first judged in 1979. My interest is judging gundogs and award CC'c in 10 breeds within the Gundog Group. I also judge the Group at championship level. I also have a strong interest in Horse Racing and have had considerable success with my horses.

I am very much looking forward to judging Bitches at NESS Championship show and thank the committee for their kind invitation.

Mrs Gloria Taylor – Judge for Special Classes

Arriving in 1978 my first show dog, a cocker spaniel, fulfilled an ambition since childhood to own a show dog. However English Setters soon caught my eye owing to their Wow factor. They exhibit such elegance in the Ring and so Sunhouse All You Need is Love at Chattersett arrived in 1985. She was mated to Sh.Ch. Koiya The High Flyer, we kept two puppies and they both achieved their stud book numbers. This led to my first judging appointment in 1995. Most show success was obtained by ‘My Spencer’, Taramber Talkalot at Chattersett, who gained one CC and two RCCs. He retired from showing when we moved to Spain in 2003, and my affix was transferred to my nephew. In Spain I travelled to various dog shows, and showed Irish Setters for Wily Duynkerke. Even winning the Gundog Group at Alicante! I feel honoured to be invited to judge these Special Classes at NESS Championship Show. I am so looking forward to this opportunity of judging English Setters again.
